Along with the 17th series smartphones, Xiaomi has updated its flagship tablet line with the Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro models. Both devices feature large displays with high resolution and a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz, the latest version of HyperOS with improved multitasking, and high-capacity batteries. The older model, the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro, is based on the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. The tablet has an 11.2-inch screen with 3.2K resolution, Dolby Vision and HDR10 support, and brightness up to 800 nits. The 9200 mAh battery supports 67W fast charging and reverse charging via cable. There is a 50MP main camera with support for 4K recording at 60 fps and a 32MP front camera for video calls. The base Xiaomi Pad 8 has a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip and the same screen with a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz. The battery here is 9200 mAh with support for 45-watt charging. The main camera in this model is 13 MP, and the front camera is 8 MP. Both tablets are equipped with four speakers with Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Audio support, and an AI-based noise cancellation system. They feature Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, a USB 3.2 Gen1 port, as well as support for the Focus Pro stylus with haptic feedback and a keyboard with a trackpad. In China, the Xiaomi Pad 8 starts at $308 for the 8 + 128 GB version, while the Pad 8 Pro costs $392 for the 8 + 128 GB memory configuration. Matte Edition options with anti-glare glass are also available. |
