The new flagship Xiaomi 17 smartphone was unveiled in China. The base model of the series features a compact size, a top-of-the-line Qualcomm processor, a 7000 mAh battery, and four 50 MP cameras. The model has a 6.3-inch OLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and bezels only 1.18 mm wide. The screen is capable of producing up to 3500 nits of brightness and is protected by the company's proprietary Dragon Crystal Glass, which, according to the company, is 10 times stronger than standard solutions. The new model is based on the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip with Adreno 840 graphics and a ring cooling system, which, according to the manufacturer, is three times more efficient than classic evaporative chambers. The smartphone is available in versions with 12 or 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1 TB of storage. Xiaomi paid special attention to the cameras. The main unit consists of three 50-megapixel modules with Leica Summilux optics: a wide-angle camera with a large 1/1.31" Light Fusion 950 sensor, an ultra-wide-angle camera with a 102° viewing angle, and a telephoto camera with 2.6x zoom and macro shooting support. The front camera has also been updated — it now has 50 MP and can record 4K video. A 7000 mAh silicon battery provides autonomy. Fast charging is claimed at 100W via cable and 50W via wireless technology, as well as reverse charging. The manufacturer promises a battery life of up to five years without noticeable degradation. Sales of the Xiaomi 17 will start on September 27 in China. Prices start at $630 for the 12 + 256 GB version, $670 for 12 + 512 GB, and $700 for 16 + 512 GB. |
