The official presentation of Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro - the first smartphones based on the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite processor from Qualcomm - took place in China. The rest of the flagships' specifications are no less interesting. We tell you about all their features.

The new Xiaomi 15 Pro is thinner, lighter and more durable than its predecessor. At 8.35mm thick, it weighs just 213 grams. Like last year's model, the screen is slightly curved on all sides. It is covered by Dragon Crystal Glass 2.0, which is 10 times more resistant to drops compared to the Dragon Crystal Glass in the Xiaomi 14.

The smartphone gets a 6.73-inch OLED screen based on M9 luminescent material with 2K resolution, variable refresh rate from 1 to 120Hz and brightness up to 3200 nits. The display includes a fast and accurate ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

The hardware backbone of the Xiaomi 15 Pro is the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, made using the second-generation 3nm process technology. According to Xiaomi assurances, response time has been reduced by 45.7% compared to last year's models. For cooling is responsible for the new system “cold pump”, which dissipates heat 3 times more efficiently than a conventional evaporation chamber.

For autonomy is responsible for a battery of 6100 mAh with support for 90-watt wired, 50-watt wireless and 30-watt magnetic wireless (you need a special case) charging. Compared to the Xiaomi 14 Pro, the battery life has been improved by 38%.

Xiaomi 15 Pro received three cameras of 50MP each: wide-angle with Light Hunter 900 sensor, ultra-wide-angle with 115-degree viewing angle and telephoto with 5x optical zoom and macro function. As before, two Leica color correction profiles are available and a host of AI features for photo enhancement and editing.

The regular Xiaomi 15 is traditionally smaller and slightly simpler than the Pro version. It has a 6.36-inch screen with bezels only 1.38mm thick and the body is 71.2mm wide. The device weighs 191 grams. It also has an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

The processor is the same as in the “pastka”, and the battery capacity is 5400 mAh. In terms of charging, everything is identical. Compared to the Xiaomi 14, the battery life has improved by 23%.

The Xiaomi 15 too has three 50MP cameras, but it has a TV with 2.5x optical zoom. But the macro function with focusing from a distance of 10 cm is retained.

Both smartphones are IP68 dust and water resistant. They run on the new HyperOS 2.0 based on Android 15.

The Xiaomi 15 price starts at 4,499 yuan in China, which is equivalent to $630 at the exchange rate at the time of the news release. The Xiaomi 15 Pro is priced from 5,299 yuan (~$743).
