vivo has unveiled its new Y500s smartphone, highlighting its long-lasting battery. The device also stands out for its high water resistance and a display with an increased refresh rate. According to the manufacturer, the 7,200 mAh Blue Ocean 3 battery can charge effectively in temperatures ranging from -20 to +40 °C. The smartphone's claimed battery life is up to 24 hours of online video playback or up to 15.5 hours in navigation mode. The fast-charging technology delivers 44W of power. The company promises that the battery will retain 80% of its rated capacity after 1,600 charge cycles. The Vivo Y500s features a 6.75-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1570x720 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and a brightness of up to 1200 cd/m². An 8 MP (f/2.1) front-facing camera is housed in a circular cutout, while the rear panel features a 50 MP main camera (f/1.8) with a ring-shaped LED flash. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor, paired with 8/12 GB of RAM and 256/512 GB of storage. The smartphone's body is protected to IP68 and IP69 standards. The price of the vivo Y500s in China is $265 for the 8/256 GB model. The 8/512 GB and 12/256 GB versions cost $320 each. |
