The new vivo S2 smartphone has officially premiered. This mid-range model features a unique, rounded design with a curved screen and a high-capacity battery in a relatively thin body. The new device features a curved 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 2800x1260 resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and local peak brightness of up to 3000 nits. Symmetrical stereo speakers and an in-display optical fingerprint scanner are also included. One of the key features of the vivo S2 is its 7050 mAh battery with support for 44W fast charging. Meanwhile, the device is approximately 8 mm thick and weighs 197?199 g, depending on the version. The body is water and dust resistant to IP68 and IP69 standards. The device is built on a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7360 Turbo processor and is available with 8 or 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of storage. A 3,810 mm² vapor chamber provides cooling, and the total cooling system area exceeds 23,000 mm². The smartphone runs Android 16 with OriginOS 6, which includes support for Google Gemini and Circle to Search. The main camera is based on a 50-megapixel Sony sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and is complemented by a 2-megapixel depth sensor, while the front camera has a resolution of 32 MP. Both cameras support 4K video recording. Sales of the vivo S2 have already begun in India. The base version with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage is priced at approximately $420, while the 8GB + 256GB version is priced at $525. A version with 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage will also be available. |
