Samsung will “roll back” the Galaxy Z Fold7 design to older versions

The new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 foldable smartphone could be the most notable update to the series in recent years. According to the latest leaks, the device will not just get new specs, but also a redesigned look and even a return to old designs.

One of the main changes will be a reduction in the thickness of the device - the new render shows that in half-open form, the Z Fold7 looks much thinner than its predecessor. This is noticeable by the minimum of free space around the power button. In addition, Samsung has abandoned the invisible camera under the inner screen and returned to the usual frontal in the hole, as in all its other smartphones. The reason could be not only complaints about the quality of pictures, but also concerns about possible patent disputes with Apple.

It's not without changes at the back either. After criticizing the design of cameras in Fold6, the company abandoned textured bezels - now the appearance of the module has become more minimalist. It is rumored that Samsung will apply a similar approach to the upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra.

The smartphone will reportedly get a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, a 200MP main camera, a 10MP TV with 3x zoom, a 12MP ultrawide, an 8.2-inch internal screen and a 6.5-inch external one. The Galaxy Z Fold7 and other Samsung new products are scheduled to be unveiled on July 9.
