Samsung has released a new smartphone in its affordable F line — the Galaxy F17 5G. Unlike its predecessor, the new model has a body that is only 7.5 mm thick with IP54 protection. It also has an updated color palette and runs on the company's proprietary Exynos chip.

The front of the Galaxy F17 5G is occupied by the same 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080x2340 pixels, a refresh rate of 90 Hz, and a brightness of up to 1100 nits, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. The smartphone is powered by an Exynos 1330 with 6/8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage.

The device has a triple rear camera, which includes a 50 MP main sensor with autofocus and OIS support, a 5 MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 2 MP macro sensor. The selfie camera has a resolution of 13 MP, and the new device's battery life is provided by a 5000 mAh battery (with 25 W fast charging).

The list of features also includes a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, and an NFC module. The Galaxy F17 5G runs on Android 15 with One UI 7 and is expected to receive up to six major OS updates and six years of security updates.

The Samsung Galaxy F17 5G is available in black and purple for $164 and $180 for the 4/128 GB and 6/128 GB versions, respectively.
