Along with the REDMI Turbo 5 Max, Xiaomi has introduced the base REDMI Turbo 5, a more compact and affordable option. At the same time, the model remains close to the older version, retaining a high-capacity battery, powerful processor, and high-quality screen. The smartphone has a metal frame and glass back panel, as well as IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K water and dust protection. It has a 6.59-inch OLED screen on the front, using the same M10 material as the Max version. The display supports a frequency of up to 120 Hz and a brightness of up to 3500 nits with PWM dimming up to 3840 Hz. The hardware platform is a MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra processor, manufactured using a 4 nm process. The chip works in tandem with fast LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.1 storage. A 7560 mAh battery with support for 100W wired charging and 27W reverse charging is responsible for autonomy. As with the Max version, the cameras on the base Turbo 5 are modest: a 50 MP main camera (IMX882 sensor) with optical stabilization, an 8 MP ultra-wide camera, and a 20 MP front camera. Video recording is available in 4K at 60 fps. The REDMI Turbo 5 is already on sale in China at a price of 1999 yuan (~$287) for the 12 + 256 GB configuration. The top-of-the-line 16 + 512 GB version costs 2599 yuan (~$373). |
