The flagship realme GT8 and GT8 Pro smartphones were unveiled in China. They feature a top-of-the-line Qualcomm processor, a powerful cooling system, fast charging support, and cameras developed in collaboration with the legendary photography brand Ricoh. The design of the realme GT8 Pro has a very interesting feature — the Deco camera block can be changed. Users can choose from four designs, including Functional Robot in the form of a mini robot with backlighting and a transparent Rubik's Cube. The standard GT8, on the other hand, uses a classic round camera block. The color palette includes white, green, and blue options with matte glass or recycled “paper leather.” The main innovation of the series is the cameras, developed in collaboration with Ricoh Imaging. The GT8 Pro is the first smartphone with optics that meet the standards of the famous Ricoh GR cameras. At its core are lenses with high transparency, minimal distortion, and enhanced glare protection. The special Ricoh GR Mode replicates the signature interface of GR cameras. The GT8 Pro has a 200 MP camera (Samsung HP5) with support for 3x optical and 6x lossless zoom. The smartphone also has a 50 MP main and ultra-wide-angle module and a 32 MP front camera. The regular GT8 retains the 50 MP main camera, but the other modules are different: a 50 MP telephoto lens with 3x zoom, an 8 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 16 MP front camera. The Pro version offers 8K shooting, as well as Ricoh's proprietary color profiles: Standard, Positive Film, Negative Film, Monotone, and High-Contrast B&W. Both models are equipped with 6.79-inch OLED screens with 2K resolution, a refresh rate of 144 Hz, and a peak brightness of up to 7000 nits. The panels are based on BOE materials and support accurate color reproduction, DC Dimming, and eye protection mode. The sensor polling rate reaches 3200 Hz, and the gaming response is 360 Hz when using four fingers. The devices are built on the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, complemented by up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1 TB of UFS 4.1 storage. The cooling system is the largest in realme's history: a 7000 mm² evaporation chamber covers all major heat sources. An additional R1 graphics chip is responsible for ultra-sharp images and stable frame rates in more than 100 games, including support for 2K+120 fps in popular shooters. The sound in smartphones is delivered through symmetrical Dual 1115E stereo speakers with enhanced bass. The new third-generation ESA vibration motor is responsible for precise tactile feedback in games. The devices are certified waterproof to three standards: IP66, IP68, and IP69. Both models are equipped with a 7000 mAh battery. The base realme GT8 supports 100-watt charging, while the GT8 Pro supports 120 watts via cable and 50 watts wirelessly. The smartphones run on Android 16 with realme UI 7.0 and are equipped with the proprietary Sky S1 communication module, which improves signal quality in games and supports 21 5G bands. |
