OPPO has released an official teaser online, revealing new details about the upcoming Find X9 Ultra smartphone. This time, the promotional materials highlight a new periscope camera developed by the brand in collaboration with Hasselblad. The rear camera module of the Find X9 Ultra will feature a “periscope” with a 50-megapixel sensor and 10x zoom capability. The manufacturer managed to implement this design without significantly increasing the thickness of the device's body. Traditional L-shaped periscope cameras with 10x zoom typically require about 41 mm of internal space. To get around this issue, OPPO developed a periscope structure with a five-fold prism reflection. This approach reduces the required optical length to 29 mm (30% less compared to traditional solutions). According to brand representatives, the Find X9 Ultra's camera capabilities are suitable for shooting scenarios that typically require professional photography equipment. Here are a few more advantages of the flagship's periscope camera: A modified JNL Ultra-Sensing sensor with an f/3.5 aperture. It provides a 230mm equivalent focal length at 10x optical zoom and uses cropping to achieve a 460mm equivalent focal length at 20x hybrid zoom. |
