OnePlus introduced two new smartphones - Nord 5 and Nord CE5. In them, the manufacturer emphasized gaming performance, fast charging and modern photo capabilities. At the same time, the devices are affordable. OnePlus Nord 5 got a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a variable refresh rate of up to 144Hz. The peak brightness reaches 1800 nits. Support for PWM dimming at 3840 Hz is claimed. At the heart of the smartphone is a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor paired with 8 or 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256 or 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Cooling is handled by the largest vaporization chamber in the segment with an area of 7300 mm². For fans of mobile gaming OnePlus promises up to 5 hours of gameplay at 144 fps in Call of Duty Mobile. The smartphone gets a 6800 mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC fast charging and support for bypass charging feature. Like in the flagship OnePlus 13, the classic silent mode switch has been replaced by a programmable Plus Key button. The smartphone is equipped with a dual rear camera: the main module at 50MP with a Sony LYT-700 sensor, as in the OnePlus 13, with optical stabilization and an additional ultra-wide-angle at 8MP. Up front, there's a 50-megapixel Samsung JN1 front-facing camera with 4K video recording at 60 fps. Other features include stereo speakers, IR port, Wi-Fi 6 and NFC. The case is protected by IP65 standard. The smartphone runs on Android 15 with Oxygen OS 15 shell, and the manufacturer promises 4 years of updates. OnePlus Nord CE5 is a simpler model. The smartphone has a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with 120Hz, a peak brightness of 1430 nits and a built-in fingerprint scanner. Inside is a MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chip that scores 1.47 million points in AnTuTu. Depending on the configuration, 8/12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of expandable storage is available. The smartphone runs Android 15 with the proprietary Oxygen OS shell. The battery in the Nord CE5 is even bigger at 7100 mAh, with a claimed 9 hours of gaming performance. It supports 80W fast wired charging and bypass charging. The main camera here is also 50MP, but with a simpler sensor - Sony LYT-600. There's also an 8MP ultrawide and a 16MP front-facing shooter.
