The Chinese brand Nubia has unexpectedly unveiled its first foldable smartphone in the Fold series on the Japanese market. The new product, made in the already traditional “book” form factor, is equipped with powerful hardware and a battery with an impressive capacity for its class. The gadget is equipped with a main 8-inch flexible display with a resolution of 2480x2200 pixels. When folded, an auxiliary external screen with a diagonal of 6.5 inches (2748x1172) is used. The hardware platform of the new product includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and 12 GB of RAM, as well as a 256 GB storage drive. The battery capacity with 55-watt fast charging is 6560 mAh. The Nubia Fold's body is protected from dust and splashes according to the IP54 standard. The rear camera unit includes a 50-megapixel main sensor (OIS), an ultra-wide-angle lens with the same resolution, and a 5-megapixel macro module. In addition, the smartphone is equipped with two 20-megapixel front cameras. When folded, the device measures 160 x 74 x 11.1 mm, and when unfolded, 160 x 144 x 5.4 mm. The gadget weighs 249 grams and is available only in black. It will go on sale in Japan on December 4 at a price of 178,560 yen (approximately $1,145). |
