In the Geekbench database appeared the results of testing a laptop with a new MediaTek processor. According to the test protocol, the chip called MT8196 demonstrated the highest performance in its segment. According to the source, the MediaTek MT8196 ARM chip (presumably a modification of the Dimensity 9400 for Chromebooks) scored 2,545 and 7,841 points in the single- and multi-threaded Geekbench 6 discipline, respectively. The unnamed laptop ended up beating several competitors with Intel Core Ultra 7 processors. It is expected that the novelty based on the new SoC will be presented this spring by Google. The exact date of premiere, specifications and price of the branded laptop are still unknown. According to rumors, the MediaTek MT8196 processor may also appear in some tablets. |
