The X-Treme Tornado X18A is noticeably larger than the brand's traditional models, but the company didn't turn it into a desktop PC replacement. The new model remains quite mobile, but features hardware and cooling designed for heavy gaming workloads.

The X-Treme Tornado X18A's key feature is its 18-inch 16:10 display. Its screen area is 26% larger than that of a 16-inch screen with the same aspect ratio. It features a resolution of 1920x1200 pixels, a refresh rate of 144 Hz, a maximum brightness of 300 cd/m², and a claimed color gamut of 100% sRGB.

Performance is handled by a 16-core AMD Ryzen 9 8945HX with a frequency of 2.5 to 5.4 GHz. Its base TDP is 55 W, with a maximum TDP of 120 W. The processor is paired with a GeForce RTX 5070 with 8 GB of GDDR7 memory: by default, the graphics card operates at up to 100 W, with Dynamic Boost adding up to an additional 15 W.

The laptop is available with 16 or 24 GB of DDR5-5200 RAM, which can be upgraded up to 32 GB. The included SSD has a capacity of 1 TB, and the maximum supported drive capacity is 4 TB. MAIBENBEN specifically notes that upgrading the memory and storage does not void the warranty.

A system with three fans and two wide heat pipes helps dissipate heat from the components. Its maximum power is stated at 200 W. Instead of standard thermal paste, phase-change thermal paste is used.

The case is made of black plastic, and the lid is aluminum. Measuring 400 x 291.5 mm, the thickness ranges from 21.6 mm at the front to 24.5 mm at the back, and it weighs 2.8 kg. The full-size keyboard features a numeric keypad, single-zone RGB backlighting, and 1.8 mm of key travel. The motion control and navigation keys are highlighted with transparent blue keycaps, and below is a large glass touchpad.

The 5200 mAh (80 Wh) battery supports fast charging. A 250 W power adapter is included, and the laptop can charge at up to 100 W via USB Type-C.

For peripherals, there are three USB Type-A ports, two USB Type-C ports with DisplayPort 1.4 and Power Delivery, a 2.5 Gbps RJ-45 port, HDMI 2.1, a Mini DisplayPort 2.1 port, and a 3.5 mm combo audio jack. HDMI supports up to 4K at 144 Hz or 8K at 60 Hz, while Mini DisplayPort supports up to 4K at 144 Hz.
