Lenovo is preparing to release the second generation of its Tab Plus multimedia tablet. The device was spotted on the list of nominees for the 2026 iF Design Award and attracted attention with its unusual design featuring a huge speaker. As expected, the main feature will be a giant speaker unit protruding from the back of the case. In collaboration with JBL, the manufacturer has integrated a high-end nine-component audio system. In essence, this tablet will be able to replace a portable speaker. Another interesting feature is the power and volume control buttons recessed into the back of the case. The front features a 12.1-inch display with a resolution of 2.5K. The design is complemented by a ring stand with several locking modes for placing the tablet horizontally or vertically. The original Lenovo Tab Plus had eight 26W speakers: four matrix tweeters and four low-frequency speakers for deep bass. The new model is expected to have even more advanced acoustics. The device is expected to be unveiled in the coming days at MWC 2026. |
