A yet-to-be-announced HUAWEI smartphone was spotted at the launch event of the Zunjie S800 electric car created by HUAWEI and JAC Motors. The device was in the hands of HUAWEI Terminal BG CEO He Gang. In the photo, you can make out the massive camera unit. In terms of dimensions and design, the gadget is very different from the usual models of the series: everything indicates that this could be the top version of the Pura 80 Ultra.

Judging by the images, the smartphone retains the triangular shape of the Deco camera, familiar from the previous generation of Pura 70. However, the module itself has become significantly larger, and this may be due to the installation of new flagship sensors.

The HUAWEI Pura 80 Ultra is rumored to get a 50-megapixel 1-inch main camera of its own design, as well as a 50-megapixel periscope with a 1/1.3-inch sensor and 10x optical zoom. Both modules will use RYYB sensors with optical image stabilization (OIS) support, and the periscope camera could be the largest in the industry. For comparison, even Samsung's top-of-the-line HP9 sensor, which is found in many Android flagships, is smaller, measuring 1/1.4 inches.

Presentation of the HUAWEI Pura 80 series is expected in June, and full-fledged sales should start in July. Whether the novelties will be available outside China is unclear.
