According to insiders, Honor is revising its plans to release foldable smartphones. It is reported that the company is preparing to abandon the usual formats in favor of a new type of device, and some models may even become history this year. An insider on Weibo claims that Honor does not plan to release the Magic V Flip 3 clamshell. Instead, the brand will allegedly focus on a so-called wide foldable smartphone. It will occupy the price niche of the Magic Vs series and effectively replace it in the model range. The main idea behind the new form factor is a wider internal screen with an aspect ratio of about 16:10 or even 4:3. Unlike classic “books,” such devices are more compact when folded and provide significantly more usable space when opened. HUAWEI was the first to demonstrate this approach with its Pura X model. According to rumors, this is what the first foldable iPhone will look like. It is worth noting that after the Magic Vs 3 in 2024, no new models in this series followed. There are no details about the “wide” foldable smartphone yet. |
