Along with traditional smartphones, Google has unveiled a new foldable model, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. The main innovation compared to its predecessor is the addition of full IP68 dust and moisture protection — a first for devices of this form factor. In addition, the company has upgraded the battery and updated the hardware platform.

The smartphone has a 6.4-inch external OLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a peak brightness of up to 3000 nits, as well as an 8-inch internal screen with the same parameters. The bezels around the displays have become thinner. Under the hood is a new Tensor G5 processor manufactured by TSMC using a 3nm process. It is paired with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a 256, 512, or 1024GB UFS 4.0 storage drive.

The battery capacity has increased from 4650 to 5015 mAh. Fast charging up to 50% in half an hour is claimed. Like other models in the Pixel 10 series, the smartphone supports the new Pixelsnap magnetic accessory system (similar to Apple MagSafe).

The cameras have been carried over from last year's model: a 48 MP main module, a 10.5 MP ultra-wide-angle module, a 10.8 MP telephoto module with 5x optical zoom, and a single 10 MP front camera on the outside and inside. At the same time, the maximum optical zoom now reaches a 10x ratio. Among the software innovations, we note the Camera Coach feature: this is a built-in assistant that suggests how to best frame the shot and choose the lighting.

The new Pixel 10 Pro Fold is available in versions with 256 GB of memory for $1,799, 512 GB for $1,919, and 1 TB for $2,149.
