Google has officially unveiled the tenth generation of its flagship smartphones. The base model Pixel 10 retains the recognizable design of its predecessor with a number of important technological improvements: more cameras, a more powerful processor, and more convenient charging. There are also some software innovations. The main technical improvement in the Pixel 10 is the Tensor G5 chip, manufactured for the first time by TSMC using a 3nm process. The eight-core architecture with five energy-efficient cores promises better performance and battery life, and PowerVR graphics have replaced Mali. The package is complemented by the proprietary Titan M2 security chip. In addition, the Pixel 10 has 12 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of storage. The device runs on Android 16 with a promised 7 years of updates. The smartphone's display is a 6.3-inch OLED with Full HD+ resolution, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and a brightness of up to 2000 nits, covered with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protective glass. The 4970 mAh battery supports 29W wired charging and 15W wireless charging, as well as the new PixelSnap standard — the implementation of magnetic Qi2 charging. This means that accessories can be attached to the smartphone in the same way as Apple MagSafe. The cameras are another important difference from its predecessor. For the first time, the base Pixel has a 10.5 MP telephoto lens, which complements the 48 MP main module and 12 MP wide-angle sensor. The front camera is 10.5 megapixels. However, the main sensor is simpler than the one in the Pro version. The smartphone also received new features based on the Gemini neural network. For example, Camera Coach helps you frame your shot by suggesting the optimal angle and composition, while Conversational Photo Editing allows you to edit photos using voice or text commands. For video enthusiasts, there are improved stabilization algorithms and HDR shooting. The new Pixel 10 costs $799 for the 128 GB version and $899 for the 256 GB version. |
