Fujitsu celebrated the release of 50 million laptops with a unique model that utilized the Kumiko wood lid technique, which requires intricate handwork and multiple species.

Shimane Fujitsu has been manufacturing computers for over 30 years. The anniversary model is based on the 13.3-inch FMV Note C ultrabook powered by Intel Meteor Lake-U.

In total, the cover includes 5,800 wooden parts, and this kind of work takes a specialist between two and three months. Funaki Woodworks and craftsman Funaki Kiyoshi are responsible for creating the cover.

The Kumiko technique first appeared in Japan some 1,500 years ago. In addition to the cover, the keyboard features several wooden keys. The company decided to highlight the S, F, and J keys, implying the acronym Shimane Fujitsu Japan.
