Framework announced a modular notebook in a ruggedized chassis

framework-

Framework announced Laptop 12 - a shockproof and easy to repair laptop designed specifically for students. It is equipped with modern high-performance hardware, easily transforms into a tablet due to the special design of the lid and, unlike many competitors, can be upgraded.

The novelty is equipped with a 12-inch touch screen with a resolution of 1920x1200 pixels and brightness up to 400 nits. The hardware platform is based on a 13th-generation Intel Core i3 or Core i5 processor with DDR-5200 RAM (up to 48 GB), and the internal M.2 storage can be up to 2 TB (NVMe). In addition to these components, you can also replace the laptop ports by installing the appropriate module in place of the existing one.

The case of the device is made of polycarbonate and ABS-plastic (on top of a metal frame), the corners are pads made of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) to make the notebook more resistant to drops and hard use. The notebook will be available for pre-order in the U.S. in April, but shipping dates and pricing for different configurations have not yet been announced.
