Dell has unveiled the 16 Plus laptop with new AMD Ryzen AI 300-series processors. The device features a thin and light metal body, a large touch-enabled screen, and a full-size keyboard with a number pad and AI shortcut key. The laptop is equipped with a 16-inch touchscreen with a 16:10 aspect ratio, 1920x1200 pixel resolution and up to 300 nits of brightness. Above the display is a 1080p front-facing camera with a physical shutter to cover the lens, and at the bottom is a backlit keyboard and a large touchpad. Inside is an AMD Ryzen AI 5 340 processor with six cores or Ryzen AI 7 350 with eight cores, clocked up to 5.0GHz and an integrated NPU with up to 50 TOPS performance. Configurations include 16GB or 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM (7,500 MT/s) and SSD storage up to 1TB. At 16.99mm thick, the laptop weighs 1.83kg. It also has a full set of essential ports: two USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 (up to 10Gbps) with Power Delivery and DisplayPort support, one USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 (up to 5Gbps), HDMI 1.4 (maximum 1080p) and a 3.5mm audio jack. Of the wireless modules, there's Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth. Power is powered by a 64Wh battery with 65W charging support - over 12 hours of battery life is claimed. The power button is combined with a fingerprint scanner. The base version with Ryzen AI 5 340 processor, 16GB RAM and 512GB storage is priced at $849.99. The variant with Ryzen AI 7 350 and 16 GB RAM + 1 TB will cost $999.99, and the top model with 32 GB RAM - $1199.99. |
