Cubot announced the launch of its new rugged smartphone, the KingKong ES 5. This new product is aimed at those who need not only a rugged device, but also a device for everyday use: one with a large screen, a capacious battery, modern features, and a compact body.

The KingKong ES 5's enclosure meets IP68, IP69K, and MIL-STD-810H protection standards, making it water-, dust-, and drop-resistant. The manufacturer claims the device is designed for use in rain, outdoor, and dusty conditions. A powerful built-in flashlight completes its suite of practical features, making it ideal for hiking, repairs, or power outages.

A 7,000 mAh battery provides battery life, which, according to the company, lasts approximately two days of typical use without recharging. The smartphone features a 6.88-inch display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and is powered by an octa-core Unisoc Tiger T620 processor. It has 256 GB of internal storage, expandable up to 1 TB via microSD card, and up to 24 GB of RAM, including some storage.

The 64MP main camera is designed for taking photos, while the 16MP front-facing camera is suitable for video calls and selfies. The smartphone also features NFC for contactless payments, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, face unlock, and dual SIM support. The new device runs Android 16.
