Apple has unveiled the new iPad and iPad Air

While everyone was waiting for the presentation of the updated MacBook Air, Apple announced the release of the new iPad and iPad Air without any presentations. The main change in the tablets was more powerful processors. The company also announced the next version of the Magic Keyboard case.

The new iPad Air has an M3 processor, which makes it almost twice as powerful as the M1-based model and up to 3.5 times faster than the iPad Air with A14 Bionic. As before, the tablet is available with a screen diagonal of 11 or 13 inches. This is still an IPS matrix with a refresh rate of 60 Hz and a brightness of 500 nits in the smaller version and 600 nits in the larger one. Support for Apple Pencil Pro is declared.

There are no changes in terms of battery life — up to 10 hours of browsing via Wi-Fi or watching videos. Options are available for 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB. The new iPad Air comes with an updated Magic Keyboard with a larger trackpad, a row of 14 special keys and a magnetic mount to the tablet with the ability to adjust its angle.

The updated version of the base iPad has the same A16 processor as the iPhone 15, and now comes with 128GB of storage in the base configuration. As a result, this model does not support Apple Intelligence features. No other changes are planned.

The base Apple iPad with the A16 chip starts at $349 for the 128GB version with Wi-Fi. The new iPad Air with the M3 starts at $599 for the 11-inch model and $799 for the 13-inch model. The Magic Keyboard costs $269 or $319, depending on the size of the tablet.
