Acer's lineup now includes the Chromebook 311 (C725) and Chromebook Spin 311 (R725T): energy-efficient laptops running ChromeOS. The new products are positioned as devices for use in educational institutions and, according to the manufacturer, can last up to 15 hours away from a power outlet.

Both models are equipped with an 11.6-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1366x768 pixels and TÜV Rheinland certification confirming low levels of excessive blue light. The only difference between the Spin model and the base model is a touchscreen with a wider opening angle.

The Chromebooks are built on the MediaTek Kompanio 540 processor (Mali H57 MC2 integrated). The new models have up to 8 GB of RAM (LPDDR5X) and up to 128 GB of storage (eMMC). They run on ChromeOS with the Chrome Education Upgrade add-on.

The list of features for both models is rounded out by a 45 Wh battery (up to 15 hours of battery life), a webcam (Full HD) with two microphones, speakers, and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules.

The set of interface connectors includes two USB-C and USB-A ports, as well as a headphone jack. The Chromebooks' bodies are protected according to the MIL-STD 810H standard. The Acer Chromebook Spin 311 and Chromebook 311 will go on sale in March this year at a price of $580 and $500, respectively.
